  • Flight data provider: status of a flight number you provide, so we can adjust a pickup.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  1. create and administer your account;
  2. price, confirm, dispatch and perform your reservations;
  3. authorize and take payment, including holds, final charges, additional stops, waiting time, cancellation and no-show charges, and gratuities;
  4. communicate with you about a booking (push notification, email, SMS);
  5. connect you and the assigned chauffeur, including a masked or direct contact channel during an active ride;
  6. investigate safety incidents, complaints, payment disputes and suspected fraud;
  7. meet tax, accounting, insurance and other legal obligations;
  8. improve service quality, reliability and safety.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your information for advertising by third parties.

3. Legal Bases and Consent

Where required, we rely on your consent (for example, push notifications, marketing messages, location access) and otherwise on the necessity of processing to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in operating a safe and reliable service.

You can withdraw consent at any time by turning off the relevant permission in your device settings or notification preferences in the app. Withdrawing consent for information necessary to perform a booking may mean we cannot provide the service.

6. Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and correction: view and edit your profile in the app; contact support for records not shown in the app.
  • Account deletion: delete your account from Account → Delete Account, or by contacting support (Section 13 of the Customer Terms). Your profile is deactivated and anonymized, sign-in is disabled and saved cards are removed; the records listed in Section 5 are retained for the stated periods.
  • Payment methods: remove a saved card at any time in Account → Payment Methods.
  • Notifications: turn push, email and SMS preferences on or off in Account → Preferences or device settings.
  • Location: grant or revoke location access in device settings; you can still book by typing an address.
  • Marketing: opt out at any time; transactional messages about a booking continue.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — such as access, correction, deletion, portability, or to appeal a decision about a request. Residents of U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia and Texas) may exercise those rights by contacting us at the address below; we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

7. Security

We use encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, least-privilege service accounts, and a PCI-compliant payment processor that receives card data directly from your device. Cards saved to your device wallet (Apple Pay) are represented by a device-specific token. No system is perfectly secure; contact us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

8. Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Unaccompanied minors are not transported (Customer Terms, Section 10). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Transfers

We operate in the United States and store data in the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States under U.S. law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email before they take effect, and the current version is always available in the app and at darktie.app. The version in effect at the time of a booking applies to that booking.
